Sarah Evans-Brockett was appointed to the Perkiomen Valley School Board in November 2017. She has served as Vice-President of the Board since June 2018.
Sarah created and manages the PV Power Packs Program, a weekend food program for students in Perkiomen Valley School District who experience food insecurity. PV Power Packs currently supplies weekend food bags to over 200 students in our district and has also provided hair cut gift cards, school supplies, clothing, holiday gifts, and more.
Sarah was on the Skippack Elementary Home & School Board from 2013-2018, serving 3 of those years as President. She has routinely volunteered in the schools since her oldest son was in kindergarten, serving as classroom mom, centers’ volunteer, recess volunteer, and worked for a year as a volunteer in a K plus classroom at South Elementary. As a member of Skippack Home & School, she started and coordinated the Skippack Power Packs Program (a precursor to the current district-wide effort), started a 5th Grade Leadership Program, as well as chaired Trunk or Treat.
Sarah has her B.S. in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. In her career, Sarah worked for Bucks County Children & Youth, Bucks County Intermediate Unit as a School Social Worker and also spent several years working as a Behavior Specialist Consultant for Penn Foundation. For the past 14 years, she has had the benefit of being able to stay home with her 2 children.
Sarah lives with her family in Skippack Township and is the proud parent of a high school student, Adam (15), and a Middle School East student, Sam (13).

Dr. Reena Kolar was appointed to the Perkiomen Valley School Board in February 2018. She currently serves on the Curriculum Committee, Facilities Use Committee and the Mental Health & Wellness Committee. She has also been on the Board of the PVSD Foundation since 2017. Reena's vision for the PV School District includes expanding mental health & wellness programs, creating safe and inclusive environments for students and staff, and improving connections between the district and the community.

In her career Reena has worked in alternative schools, hospitals, treatment centers and private practice. Currently she works as a Psychologist in the Wellness Center at Ursinus College.

Matthew Dorr was appointed to the Perkiomen Valley School Board in June 2018 and serves on numerous committees, including Finance, Safety & Operations, School Wellness, and Technology Advisory. Matt benefited from an exceptional public school education, which developed his desire to be involved with the School Board to ensure PVSD offers the most robust experience to every student.
Matt studied clinical psychology and microbiology at the State University of New York at Buffalo and earned his B.S. in Computer Science at DeSales University. For the past 20 years, he has supported and taught surgical procedures for Johnson & Johnson, Karl Storz, Baxter, and EndoGastric Solutions.
Matt and his wife have lived in Skippack Township for the past 15 years and are the proud parents of Caleb (10) and Emerson (7), both of whom attend Skippack Elementary School. Matt coaches Caleb’s basketball and baseball teams, as well as volunteers in his church. For the past 4 years, he has volunteered at Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine, a prom for individuals with special needs in King of Prussia.

Laura White has been a Perkiomen Valley resident for more than 20 years. She and her daughter, who is a 3rd grader at Skippack Elementary School, live in Skippack Township.
Laura has been involved with the Skippack Home & School since 2016. She has volunteered in classrooms and has coordinated and assisted with events. She has recently taken on the role of co-chair for the always popular and successful BINGO event. Additionally, she has volunteered with the PV Power Packs Program since its inception at Skippack Elementary and continues those efforts as it has expanded to the entire district.
In January 2017, Laura founded and continues to coordinate the local chapter of the national bi-partisan initiative Hate Has No Home Here, whose charter “promotes just and inclusive communities by encouraging neighbors to declare their homes, schools, businesses, and places of worship to be safe places where everyone is welcome and valued.”
Laura’s decision to run for the Perkiomen Valley School Board is based on her passion and drive to enrich the schools in the district for all students and the community. Laura’s time in the schools as a parent, volunteer, and education major developed her strong desire to “do more” and act as an advocate for all of the children with the community.
Professionally, Laura has worked in the contract furniture industry since 2006. Her experience includes operations support, business development, project management, and team building/development. She is currently a Project Manager for WB Wood, A Herman Miller Dealership. She also holds her PA Real Estate license with Berkshire Hathaway Fox Roach, Malvern.

Kim Mares is interested in bringing her passion for inclusive and equitable school environments for all students to the Perkiomen Valley School Board. Currently, Kim serves on the PVSD Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Committee and the PV Partners for Equity and Inclusion Committee, while also participating in the Delaware Valley Consortium for Excellence and Equity hosted by the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. Additionally, Kim has been working with the district on implementing more inclusive practices, particularly in the area of students with disabilities, and has introduced the district to the use of Peer Mentors for those students with more intensive needs in the High School. In the spring of 2019, she will be presenting at the Parent Education Advocacy and Leadership Center in Harrisburg on the topic of leadership and inclusion.

Previously, she lived in Northern Virginia, where she was frequently involved in the schools as a classroom volunteer, recess volunteer, and a volunteer music teacher in a K-8 school.
